The National Volleyball Cup is set to officially kick off today at Chinangali Grounds in Dodoma, featuring top teams from across mainland Tanzania.
Riziki Godwin, Administrative Director of the Tanzania Volleyball Federation (TVF), told The Respondent Online that preparations for the tournament are nearly complete, with all arrangements in place to ensure a smooth start.
“The main goal of this tournament is to conclude the TVF calendar for the year while giving players an opportunity to showcase their talent. It is also a key platform for identifying athletes who will represent Tanzania in upcoming international competitions,” Godwin said.
The tournament will feature both men’s and women’s teams, with champions to be crowned in each category.
In the men’s category, Group A includes teams from Mara, Tabora, Kagera, and Morogoro, while Group B features Dodoma, Kilimanjaro, Mwanza, and Mtwara.
For the women, Group A consists of teams from Dar es Salaam, Arusha, and Kilimanjaro, with Group B including Mtwara, Dodoma, Kagera, and Simiyu.
The National Volleyball Cup promises intense competition and is expected to serve as a catalyst for the growth and development of volleyball in Tanzania.
