Mtambile MP Said Ibrahim Mzimba has awarded 91 high-performing students with learning essentials in a move aimed at promoting education and easing challenges faced by learners as they progress with their studies.

The students received mattresses, school bags and exercise books during a ceremony held at Mtambile School in Mkoani District, Pemba, on December 21, 2025.

The event brought together parents, students and head teachers from all nine schools in Mtambile Constituency, marking what many described as a significant milestone for education in the area.

Speaking to the beneficiaries, Mr Mzimba of ACT Wazalendo urged the students to remain disciplined, work hard and set clear long-term goals, saying education remains the strongest foundation for personal advancement and community development.

He said his office would continue to prioritise education by ensuring students access supportive learning environments and essential study tools.

“As you move forward with your studies, remember that you carry the hopes of your parents, your community and the entire Mtambile Constituency,” he said, calling on the students to pursue their education with commitment and integrity.

The MP also encouraged learners to place greater emphasis on science subjects, noting their growing relevance in the labour market and their importance in driving national development.

In an effort to further boost motivation and excellence, Mr Mzimba pledged to introduce special rewards for students from the constituency who attain Division One in their Form Four examinations, a move aimed at fostering healthy competition and academic ambition.

Parents welcomed the initiative, describing it as a positive shift in leadership. One parent, Khamis Ali, said the gesture had brought renewed hope to families in the constituency.

“Our MP has made a strong beginning. Such initiatives were unheard of in the past, despite many children performing well. Today, we are grateful to have a leader with vision and commitment to education,” he said.

One of the students who received the support said the assistance would enable them to continue with their studies more comfortably and with improved focus.

The beneficiaries pledged to work harder in their studies, with the goal of improving their future prospects and contributing to the development of Mtambile Constituency.

The initiative has drawn widespread praise, highlighting the constituency leadership’s commitment to investing in education as a catalyst for sustainable development.
