Minister Sangu urges employers to register workplaces with OSHA

The Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office – Labour, Employment and Relations, Deus Clement Sangu, has called on all employers nationwide to register their workplaces with the Occupational Safety and Health Authority (OSHA) to strengthen compliance with safety and health laws.

Speaking on December 22, 2025, during a visit to OSHA offices in Dar es Salaam, Minister Sangu warned that legal measures will be taken against employers who fail to register their workplaces.

He directed OSHA to launch a nationwide registration campaign to ensure all workplaces meet safety and health standards, aiming to reduce accidents and work-related illnesses.


Minister Sangu also urged OSHA management and staff to continue working diligently, providing quality services, conducting inspections, and advising employers on systems to protect workers.

OSHA Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Khadija Mwenda, welcomed the Minister and Deputy Minister Rahma Kisuo, congratulating them on their leadership roles and assuring that OSHA will continue to implement its mandate effectively to safeguard occupational safety and health.

The visit included Deputy Minister Rahma Kisuo and Labour Commissioner Suzan Mkangwa.
