Habari FC gears up to clash with Teachers in Kagera’s IJUKA OMUKA Sports Bonanza

The Habari Football Club, uniting journalists across the Kagera Region, has kicked off its preparations for the much-anticipated match against the Teachers team. 

This exciting showdown is set to take place on Saturday of this week at Kaitaba Stadium as part of the highly celebrated IJUKA OMUKA Bonanza a festival championed by the Kagera Regional Commissioner, Fatma Mwassa.

Under the expert guidance of head coach Jackius Joackim, alongside assistant coach Denis Deus a.k.a Deruu, Habari FC is in full training mode at Kaitaba stadoum , ready to take on the challenge. 

Coaches and players alike have expressed confidence and enthusiasm, emphasizing that the encounter aims to build solidarity and foster healthy competition between two key community groups journalists and teachers.

Speaking after a rigorous training session, Coach Joackim said, “Our goal extends beyond just winning the match. We want to promote unity, good health, and strong ties between the media and education sectors in Kagera. We respect the Teachers as formidable opponents, but our team is well-prepared and morale is high.”

Players from Habari FC share the same spirit, promising an entertaining match filled with skillful play and passionate effort to thrill the fans.

The IJUKA OMUKA festival, whose name means “Let’s Remember Home” has been a staple event in Kagera since 2023. 

This year, it runs from December 18 to 21 and encompasses a range of activities from a solemn day of prayer to an investment conference and culminating in the vibrant Sports Bonanza on December 20. 

Alongside the football and netball matches, the event will feature children’s games, ensuring fun for the whole family.

Mwassa has warmly invited everyone in and out of Kagera Region to participate and support the festival in large numbers, highlighting its vital role in stimulating community spirit and encouraging economic growth to overcome regional challenges.

With the stage set at the iconic Kaitaba Stadium, sports lovers and community members alike are encouraged to come out and witness what promises to be a memorable clash full of passion, unity, and homegrown talent.
