The government is set to establish a special 24-hour service unit dedicated to receiving, listening to, and acting on citizens’ views, suggestions, and complaints as part of broader efforts to strengthen communication, transparency, and accountability in public service delivery.

Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office responsible for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations, Mr Deus Sangu, said the initiative will give wananchi a direct channel to raise their concerns without unnecessary bureaucratic barriers, while also enabling the government to receive timely feedback to improve policies and services.

Mr Sangu made the remarks on December 23, 2025, in Sumbawanga, Rukwa Region, during a meeting with stakeholders in industrial relations drawn from social, political, and economic groups, as well as representatives of the youth.

He said effective communication between the government and citizens is critical for building public trust, strengthening national unity, and promoting inclusive development.

According to the minister, the planned unit will operate around the clock to ensure citizens are heard at any time and that their concerns are addressed promptly and responsibly.

The minister explained that the meeting aimed to introduce the functions and activities of his office while implementing a strategy to reach key stakeholders in industrial relations.

He noted that such engagement helps create shared understanding and cooperation in advancing national development goals.

Mr Sangu added that bringing together stakeholders from different sectors allows the government to identify real challenges facing citizens and work collaboratively to find sustainable solutions that benefit the wider community.

The meeting was held under the theme “Strong Relations, the Foundation of National Cohesion,” reflecting the government’s commitment to strengthening ties between the state and its citizens as a cornerstone of the country’s long-term social and economic development.
