E-Mrejesho system strengthens public servants’ accountability

By The Respondents Reporter

The government has rolled out a new E-Mrejesho system designed to enhance accountability and improve public service delivery, giving citizens, including those in remote areas, a direct voice in shaping government performance.

Minister of State in the President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance, Hon. Ridhiwani Kikwete, told journalists in Dar es Salaam that the platform is easily accessible via mobile phones using the short code 15200#.

Through its “Sema na Kiongozi” (Speak to a Leader) module, citizens can submit feedback directly to ministers, regional commissioners, and other leaders.

All submissions are collected, processed, and acted upon to ensure better service delivery.

“This E-Mrejesho system is a direct link between citizens and leaders. It will help us identify areas for improvement in public service. Even if a leader does not respond immediately, we will ensure every submission receives attention,” Kikwete emphasized.

He urged citizens to actively use the system, highlighting that the ministry is also developing a mobile application to provide faster, transparent feedback.

These initiatives are part of broader efforts to strengthen accountability and ensure that public servants deliver services that meet the expectations of Tanzanians.
