The Dar es Salaam Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (DAWASA) has assured residents of continued access to clean water in several parts of the city, including Kigamboni, Chang’ombe, Kariakoo and the city centre.
In a statement released on December 16, 2025, the authority said it had opened the Kigamboni water storage tank, a move that has enabled the flow of water to the affected areas and ensured availability of the service for the day.
DAWASA said the intervention was aimed at sustaining water supply to both residential and commercial zones amid ongoing efforts to stabilise distribution in the city.
The authority called on residents in areas currently receiving water to draw and safely store sufficient amounts for immediate and future use, noting that such preparedness would help reduce inconvenience should supply fluctuations occur.
DAWASA reiterated its commitment to providing reliable water services and pledged to keep the public informed on developments affecting water supply across Dar es Salaam.
