Zungu promises fair and effective leadership in Tanzania’s 13th parliament

Mussa Zungu, the newly elected Speaker of Tanzania’s Parliament, has pledged to lead the 13th Parliament with fairness, integrity, and full respect for the country’s Constitution and parliamentary rules.

In his vote of thanks after being sworn in, Speaker Zungu said his priority will be to ensure Parliament plays a meaningful role in advancing national development and improving the lives of Tanzanians.

He paid tribute to outgoing Speaker Dr. Tulia Ackson for her leadership during the 12th Parliament, noting that the experience and lessons he gained under her guidance will shape his approach in his new role.

Speaker Zungu also called on all Members of Parliament to act with patriotism, follow parliamentary procedures, and work diligently in service of the nation.

 He stressed that cooperation and mutual respect among MPs are key to achieving effective parliamentary work.
