The Commissioner for Social Welfare in the Ministry of Community Development, Gender, Women and Special Groups, Dr Nandera E. Mhando, has chaired a meeting of the Executive Committee for the Second Phase of the National Plan of Action to End Violence Against Women and Children (MTAKUWWA II).
The meeting, held on November 11, 2025, in Dodoma, brought together members from various ministries, government institutions, financial organisations, and both national and international agencies.
During the session, participants reviewed and discussed the 2024/2025 implementation report of MTAKUWWA II, focusing on progress made, challenges encountered, and strategies to enhance coordination and accountability among stakeholders.
The discussions also underscored the government’s continued commitment to protecting the rights and dignity of women and children, and to strengthening multisectoral collaboration in addressing gender-based violence across the country.
