Simba Sports Club has confirmed it is fully prepared for its opening group-stage match of the CAF Champions League against Petro de Luanda, scheduled for 10:00 p.m. at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Originally set for 1:00 a.m. on November 22, Simba’s request to adjust the kickoff time was approved by CAF.
Speaking in Dar es Salaam, Simba’s Media Manager, Ahmed Ally, said preparations are progressing well despite the absence of Moussa Camara and Abdulrazack Hamza, who are both in Morocco for medical treatment.
On a positive note, Mohamed Bajaber has returned to the squad and played 30 minutes in a friendly against JKT Tanzania.
Ally acknowledged that Petro de Luanda is a strong team, making the match a tough challenge, but emphasized that Simba is determined to start the group stage with a victory.
The club is also running an extensive fan engagement campaign across Dar es Salaam to ensure a packed stadium.
“We want Benjamin Mkapa Stadium filled with supporters. We are visiting different areas to encourage fans to buy tickets. On match day, no one should stay at home,” he said.
Petro de Luanda is expected to arrive in Tanzania on November 19, along with referees from Angola.
Ticket sales are already underway, with prices ranging from TZS 5,000 for general admission to TZS 250,000 for premium Tanzanite seats.
In addition, Simba’s new CAF Champions League jerseys will be officially launched on Thursday, November 20, 2025, and will be available in stores immediately after the launch, giving fans a chance to show their support in style.
