President Samia receives special envoy of Russian President Vladimir Putin

President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has received a special message from the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. 

The message was delivered on November 6, 2025, at the Chamwino State House in Dodoma by President Putin’s Special Envoy, Sergei Kiriyenko.

Upon arrival, Mr. Kiriyenko was warmly welcomed by President Samia before the two leaders proceeded for official talks. 

Their discussions centered on strengthening the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Tanzania and Russia. 


The meeting also reviewed ongoing partnerships and explored new areas of collaboration, including education, energy, investment, health, and defense.

President Samia emphasized Tanzania’s commitment to enhancing international partnerships that support national development priorities. 

She noted that Russia has been a dependable partner over the years, particularly in technical education, capacity building, and bilateral cooperation.

Mr. Kiriyenko conveyed President Putin’s greetings and reaffirmed Russia’s readiness to continue expanding cooperation with Tanzania. 


He highlighted Russia’s interest in working closely with Tanzania to advance mutually beneficial development initiatives and economic opportunities.

The engagement reflects Tanzania’s continued diplomatic efforts to strengthen ties with strategic global partners while promoting peaceful international relations.

 After the talks, President Samia and Mr. Kiriyenko posed for an official photograph, marking the completion of the envoy’s visit to the State House in Chamwino.
