Peace must guide youth amid progress

Amir Japhari, a respected auto mechanic in Dar es Salaam, has underscored the importance of peace, warning that unrest and acts of violence are not a solution for achieving justice.

He urged Tanzanians, especially young people, to prioritize harmony over unnecessary chaos.

On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, Japhari commended President Samia Suluhu Hassan for listening to the concerns of the youth by establishing the Ministry of Youth Development and appointing several young ministers.

He believes these leaders possess the vision and capacity to address the challenges facing young people across the country.

“Peace is a critical foundation for national development. Some young people feel the country has little to offer them, yet history shows that nations which succumb to unrest often struggle to restore order and prosperity. Today, Tanzania is on a positive path. We have overcome many past challenges, and the progress made across various sectors is visible to our youth,” Japhari said.

He further called on religious leaders to avoid statements that divide communities, urging them instead to foster unity and guide society responsibly.

Japhari emphasized that Tanzania’s future depends on collaboration, dialogue, and the shared commitment of all citizens to uphold peace and social cohesion.
