A sense of optimism and enthusiasm filled the Parliament of the United Republic of Tanzania in Dodoma after Muhsin Ussi was officially sworn in as the Member of Parliament for Malindi Constituency, Zanzibar.
The swearing-in ceremony, held yesterday before the Speaker of Parliament, marked the beginning of a new chapter in Ussi’s leadership journey.
He now carries the voice and aspirations of the people of Malindi a constituency with a rich history and a remarkable legacy in the politics, culture, and economy of Zanzibar.
After taking the oath of allegiance, Ussi did not immediately address the media, but the event was warmly received by fellow Members of Parliament and political observers, who expressed confidence that he would uphold the principles of integrity, accountability, and dedicated service to his constituents.
Malindi Constituency, located in the Urban West Region of Unguja, stands among Zanzibar’s most historically significant areas, known for its longstanding involvement in social and political movements.
Positioned at the heart of Stone Town, Malindi continues to serve as a hub of commerce, tourism, and cultural heritage elements that make Zanzibar a globally admired destination.
The residents of Malindi, proud of their rich traditions and the blend of heritage with modern progress, now look forward to renewed representation under Ussi’s leadership, believing their voices will be heard more strongly in the National Assembly.
