Prime Minister Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba has called for a new era of citizen-focused governance, stressing accountability, professionalism, and efficient public service as he addressed thousands of residents at Bombadia Grounds in Singida.

Delivering greetings from President Samia Suluhu Hassan, Dr. Mwigulu praised the people of Singida for their contribution to national development and highlighted the government’s commitment to ensuring that citizens benefit directly from strategic projects and reforms.

Dr. Mwigulu emphasized that public servants must prioritize the needs of ordinary Tanzanians.

“It is unacceptable for a citizen to visit a government office seeking assistance and leave without answers. This ends today,” he said.

He stressed that President Samia has directed the government to monitor the implementation of all development projects and election promises closely.

“Every commitment must translate into tangible benefits for our people,” Dr. Mwigulu added.

Highlighting the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) as a strategic national project, the Prime Minister reassured residents that Singida will gain from employment opportunities, trade, and improved connectivity.

He described the SGR as “a backbone of the nation” that should directly improve community livelihoods.

Dr. Mwigulu also noted the fast-tracking of the Universal Health Insurance system, which aims to provide affordable healthcare for all Tanzanians. “This is a reform that touches every family. It must begin without delay,” he said.

The Prime Minister warned that public servants who frustrate or mistreat citizens will face consequences.

“The government has provided the tools; what remains is dedication, professionalism, and respect for the citizen,” he said.

He urged officers to listen, record complaints, provide solutions, or escalate matters to the appropriate authorities.

He added that citizens’ grievances should be resolved promptly to prevent protests and ensure trust in government services.

“We cannot pursue middle-income status while public servants fail to execute their responsibilities properly,” he said.

Dr. Mwigulu called on all Tanzanians to protect peace and national unity. “Tanzania belongs to its people, not to leaders or political parties. Let us reject actions that divide us,” he said.

He also highlighted the government’s commitment to youth development through the newly established Ministry of Youth, which addresses young people’s challenges, opportunities, and empowerment.

Concluding his address, Dr. Mwigulu called for collective responsibility, urging citizens and leaders alike to ensure that development reaches every corner of the country.

“Our nation is blessed with resources and potential. Let us protect it, work for it, and ensure every Tanzanian feels the benefits of progress,” he said.
