Kibaha Municipal Director, Dr. Rogers Shemwelekwa, has called on residents to actively harness available opportunities, innovate, and invest their skills to drive household prosperity and accelerate municipal development.
During a working visit to Tangini Ward, where he inspected ongoing development projects and engaged with local leaders, Dr. Shemwelekwa highlighted that Kibaha offers a secure and stable environment, creating a solid foundation for economic activities and entrepreneurship.
He emphasized that development is a shared responsibility between the government and citizens, urging residents to combine effort, knowledge, and civic participation to boost productivity and local revenue.
“Our municipality is safe and peaceful. Residents have a real opportunity to transform their livelihoods by working diligently, applying their skills, and supporting local development initiatives. Paying taxes and engaging in community projects ensures that the 10 percent development fund and other local revenues directly benefit your neighborhood,” he said.
Dr. Shemwelekwa further stressed the importance of community involvement in enhancing social services such as education, healthcare, water supply, and infrastructure, noting that active participation ensures projects respond to actual community needs.
Residents of Tangini Ward praised the Director’s visit, saying it demonstrated accountable and responsive leadership.
“This visit reassures us that our voices are heard. The Director addressed several challenges in our ward and motivated us to actively participate in local development,” said a Tangini resident.
The visit is part of Kibaha Municipality’s continuous program to monitor development projects, ensure proper utilization of public funds, and strengthen service delivery for residents.
