Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) has announced temporary changes to some of its flight schedules to accommodate ongoing runway improvement works at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA).
According to a statement issued by the airline’s Public Relations and Communications Unit on November 12, 2025, the runway will be temporarily closed at night for resurfacing and repainting as part of efforts to enhance flight safety and operational efficiency.
The works will take place between 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m., with the temporary schedule adjustments expected to remain in effect until December 9, 2025.
The airline said several flights will be affected by the change, including TC103 (Mwanza–Dar es Salaam), TC125 (Kilimanjaro–Dar es Salaam), TC203 (Nairobi–Dar es Salaam), and TC105 (Kilimanjaro–Zanzibar–Dar es Salaam).
“Passengers affected will be advised by our Customer Service Centre. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause,” ATCL said in the statement.
The national carrier further expressed appreciation to its customers for their understanding and continued support, noting that the improvement works are vital for maintaining the highest standards of aviation safety and service quality.
The airline urged passengers with inquiries or concerns about their travel schedules to contact its customer service team through +255 748 773 900.
Air Tanzania continues to expand its network and improve its services as part of the government’s broader strategy to strengthen the aviation sector and position Dar es Salaam as a key regional air transport hub.
