Yanga secured a commanding 2-0 win against Mtibwa Sugar in today’s Tanzanian Premier League clash at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.

The match began with both teams probing for opportunities, balancing attack with defensive caution. The breakthrough came in the 38th minute when Mohamed Hussein opened the scoring for Yanga after the ball deflected inside the box and found its way into the net.

Despite Mtibwa Sugar’s persistent attempts to level the score, Hussein’s goal held firm as the teams went into halftime with Yanga leading 1-0.

The second half saw Mtibwa Sugar return with renewed determination, but their attacks were repeatedly thwarted by Yanga’s organized defense.

In the 83rd minute, Yanga sealed the victory when Celestine Ecua capitalized on a precise pass inside the box, slotting the ball home for the second goal.

The 2-0 win marks Yanga’s continued strong start to the season. After three matches, they have accumulated seven points, with two wins and one draw, placing them fourth in the league standings.

Mtibwa Sugar remain in tenth place with five points from five games, having won once, drawn twice, and lost twice.
