Tanzania’s national beach volleyball team is scheduled to depart tomorrow evening for Bujumbura, Burundi, to take part in the Zone Five Championship, which will run from October 23 to 25, 2025.
Speaking to The Respondents Online, Tanzania Volleyball Federation (TVF) Beach Volleyball Commissioner Ford Edward confirmed that preparations have been finalized, expressing confidence in the team’s readiness and determination to perform well.
“Our preparations are 100 percent complete. The players have trained intensively and are fully prepared for the competition. We are grateful to the government, through the National Sports Council (BMT), for facilitating the team’s travel expenses,” said Edward.
He noted that the team concluded its final training session yesterday and will rest today before embarking on the journey.
Edward added that he is optimistic about the team’s prospects, emphasizing that it comprises both international and local players with rich experience in major competitions.
The 11-member delegation includes four male players, four female players, two coaches, and one team leader.
The men’s squad features David Neeke (Kepler University, Rwanda), Omary Bure (EAUR, Rwanda), Said Alhaji (KIUT), and Selemani Hassan (Tanzania Prisons).
The women’s lineup consists of Janeth Ajiri (JKT), Naima Mohamed, Evelyne Albart (Tanzania Prisons), and Mariam Omary (Star Girls).
The technical bench is led by coaches Yusuph Mkalambati and Amanuel Esayas, while TVF official Shukuru Ally serves as the team leader.
Edward concluded by expressing optimism that the team’s commitment and experience will enable Tanzania to make a strong impression and return home with positive results from the regional championship.
