As Tanzanians prepare to head to the polls on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, the Police Force in Mbeya Region has assured citizens of maximum security and a peaceful environment throughout the voting process.

Speaking after leading extensive patrols involving vehicles, foot officers, and police dogs across Mbeya City, Regional Police Commander Senior Assistant Commissioner of Police (SACP) Benjamin Kuzaga said all necessary measures have been taken to protect citizens and their property.

“The security situation across Mbeya Region remains calm and stable. Since the start of the campaigns, there have been no reports or signs of unrest. The Police Force is well-organized and ready to maintain peace, order, and safety for everyone,” he stated.

Commander Kuzaga encouraged residents to turn out in large numbers to vote, assuring them that their safety is guaranteed before, during, and after the election.

“I urge all citizens to exercise their constitutional right to vote with confidence. The Police are on the ground to ensure that the entire process takes place in an atmosphere of peace and unity,” he said.

He also cautioned the public against false information and incitements being spread on social media, emphasizing the importance of verifying news before sharing it.

“Let us reject misinformation and remain focused on building our nation. Social media should not be used to spread fear or division,” Commander Kuzaga added.

The police chief reaffirmed that law enforcement officers will act firmly and in accordance with the law against anyone attempting to disrupt peace or undermine the election process.

“Our priority is the safety of every citizen and the protection of our democracy. Anyone who tries to disturb public order will face the full force of the law,” he warned.

Commander Kuzaga concluded by reminding citizens that maintaining peace is a shared responsibility.

“Let us all work together to make this election a success peacefully, lawfully, and with respect for one another,” he said.
