As Tanzania prepares for the General Election on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, persons with disabilities are being urged to exercise their constitutional right to vote and elect leaders who will genuinely defend their interests and advance development.

Morogoro TAKUKURU Deputy Director, Mr. Christopher Mwakajinga, made the call during the launch of an anti-corruption training program for political party leaders representing persons with disabilities and people with special needs.

The program, themed “Reject Corruption in Elections,” aims to equip leaders and voters with the knowledge to ensure transparency, fairness, and integrity during the elections.

“Participation in elections is a constitutional right, not a favor. Every citizen, including persons with disabilities, must exercise this right fully and without barriers,” Mr. Mwakajinga said.

“Our Constitution guarantees all Tanzanians aged 18 and above the opportunity to vote, regardless of disability, income, or social status.”he added

He emphasized the importance of creating a free and fair voting environment, enabling voters to make informed choices without intimidation or undue influence.

Political party leaders representing persons with disabilities echoed the call, urging voters not to be swayed by inducements or pressure.

They encouraged voters to select leaders committed to improving their welfare, promoting national development, and maintaining peace in Tanzania.

“This election is an opportunity to shape leadership that reflects your needs and aspirations. Your vote is your voice use it wisely to drive progress and uphold peace,” Mr. Mwakajinga added.
