As Tanzania prepares for the General Election on October 29, 2025, Manyara Regional Commissioner, Queen Cuthbeth Sendiga, has called on residents to take an active role in safeguarding peace and ensuring a smooth voting process.

Speaking to journalists in Babati on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, Sendiga emphasized that the day of the election belongs to the people.

She encouraged all eligible voters to turn out in large numbers, vote responsibly, and return home to continue their daily activities, avoiding any involvement in unlawful activities.

“This is a day for citizens to decide the course of their next five years. Come out, exercise your vote peacefully, and let us protect the sanctity of this democratic process together,” she said.

Sendiga also reminded political parties and individuals that attempting to create unrest or influencing voters at polling stations goes against the election guidelines.

She urged cooperation between the government, citizens, political parties, and stakeholders to ensure calm and security before, during, and after the election.

“Manyara is a region of peace, and it is everyone’s responsibility to maintain this reputation. Let us vote responsibly, respect the law, and safeguard our democracy,” she added.

The RC’s call comes amid nationwide preparations for the election, as authorities continue to coordinate with local leaders and communities to ensure a safe and credible voting process.
