The Dar es Salaam Special Police Zone Commander, Jumanne Muliro, has warned anyone planning, coordinating, or intending to take part in violent acts or protests on October 29, 2025.

He said the police are fully committed to protecting the nation, its citizens, and their property.

Muliro made the remarks on Friday, October 24, 2025, during a youth-focused symposium at Ubungo Plaza Hall, which brought together secondary school, college, and university students ahead of the general elections.

He urged young people to think carefully about their actions and the company they keep. "As people sworn to protect this country, we are committed to keeping everyone safe. Citizens should turn out in large numbers to vote peacefully. We will be on the streets to ensure safety. There will be no protests or violence only peaceful voting," he said.

Muliro also reminded youth that having positive or negative opinions is normal. The problem arises when negative views lead to violent actions, which is against the law.

He urged them to protect their future by keeping the country peaceful, allowing them to achieve their economic, political, and social goals.
