JKT Queens have once again stamped their dominance in women’s football after retaining the Women’s Community Shield title for the 2025/2026 season with a 2–1 victory over Simba Queens in an electrifying final played on September 12 at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.
The defending champions displayed great determination and teamwork throughout the match, earning themselves the top honor, gold medals, and the coveted Shield.
Simba Queens finished as runners-up, taking silver medals, while Yanga Princess secured third place.
Goals from Winfreda Gerald and Asha Omary sealed the win for JKT Queens, while Zawadi Usanase scored the lone goal for Simba Queens.
Speaking after the victory, JKT’s forward Winfreda Gerald said discipline, unity, and adherence to the coach’s tactics were the main reasons behind their success.
“Our victory came through hard work and following the coaches’ instructions. It was a tough and competitive match, but we fought as a team and achieved our goal,” she said.
“Even though we were exhausted, we pushed ourselves to the limit and managed to bring the Shield home again,” Winfreda added with a smile.
This triumph marks the second consecutive Community Shield title for JKT Queens, who also lifted the trophy last season after defeating Yanga Princess.
Their consistency and fighting spirit continue to set the standard in Tanzanian women’s football.
