The Muslim University of Morogoro (MUM), in partnership with the Public-Private Partnership Centre (PPP Centre), will on Wednesday host a high-level symposium aimed at exploring Tanzania’s economic direction towards Vision 2050 and assessing whether the country is building an inclusive economy.
The forum, themed “Tanzania’s Economic Pathway Towards Vision 2050: Are We Building an Inclusive Economy?”, will be held at the MUM campus on October 22, 2025, bringing together academics, economists, policymakers, and representatives from the private sector.
Key speakers include Mr. David Kafulilia, Director of the PPP Centre; Prof. Musa Assad, Vice Chancellor of MUM; Dr. Mwajuma Hamza, Executive Director of the Tanzania Women Chamber of Commerce (TWCC); and Dr. Bravious Kahyoza, economist and researcher.
According to the organisers, the main objective of the symposium is to create a platform for professional and strategic dialogue on the role of public-private partnerships (PPPs) in implementing Tanzania’s National Development Vision 2050.
The event comes at a time when Tanzania is strengthening its PPP framework to attract more private investment into infrastructure, manufacturing, and social services in line with its long-term vision for industrialisation and inclusive growth.
