The Dar es Salaam Regional Volleyball Association (DAREVA) has ushered in a new leadership team following elections held on October 25, 2025, in Dar es Salaam, marking a renewed commitment to strengthen and promote the sport in the region.
Fredy Mshangama was elected Chairperson, while Elinaike Naburi and Dismas Dick will serve as First and Second Vice Chairpersons, respectively.
The position of Parmanent Secretary went to Clement Athana, assisted by Deputy Parmanent Secretary Salum Yasin Mpelembo.
Other elected officials include Joseph Cyplian Mwadua as Technical Commissioner, Papaa Hamis as Coaching Commissioner, and Greyson Zahabu as Refereeing Commissioner.
The Beach Volleyball Commission will be led by Hellen Mwegoha, while Edwin Masinga takes charge of the School Development Commission, and Irene Lawrence Haule assumes the Women’s Development portfolio.
Speaking to The Respondents Online after the election, Chairperson Mshangama emphasized the need to strengthen district-level volleyball associations by ensuring they have active and sustainable leadership.
He also urged them to remain in good standing by paying annual membership fees to the National Sports Council (NSC).
“Our priority is to build active and vibrant district associations that will help promote and develop volleyball at all levels across Dar es Salaam,” Mshangama said.
He thanked the members for their trust and pledged that the newly elected leadership will work diligently to restore the sport’s vibrancy and expand its reach within schools and communities.
“We are committed to moving volleyball forward and creating a strong foundation that will inspire more young people to join the game,” he added.
The election marks a new chapter for DAREVA, which aims to revitalize volleyball through structured leadership, accountability, and grassroots development programs.
