Residents of Dar es Salaam are preparing to make their voices heard in the General Election on October 29, 2025, firmly rejecting online calls urging protests or voter abstention.
They emphasized that voting is a powerful tool to protect peace, stability, and the nation’s development, warning that unrest brings deaths, injuries, and economic setbacks that affect everyone.
Pantaleo Mushi, a resident of Mbezi Beach, said he fully understands his constitutional duty to vote. He urged young people to turn out in large numbers and choose leaders who truly represent their interests.
“Not voting hands your future to others and allows leaders who may not serve the public good to take office. Voting is our tool to shape leadership at the ward, constituency, and presidential levels,” he said.
Said Nassor and Yusuph Ibengwe from Kawe highlighted that citizens must resist manipulation by a few politicians seeking personal gain.
They called on everyone to exercise their constitutional rights responsibly and peacefully, ensuring that each vote counts and contributes to national stability.
Political analysts stress that real change begins at the ballot box. Every citizen who votes strengthens democracy, safeguards their future, and shapes the society they want to see.
Staying silent means surrendering power to others, while participating ensures citizens have a say in their lives, government, and the nation’s direction.
Every vote is a step toward building a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Tanzania for today and future generations.
