Yanga SC players fired up for Mwananchi Week finale against Bandari

Young Africans SC (Yanga) players have expressed confidence and readiness ahead of their highly anticipated friendly match against Kenya’s Bandari FC, which will headline the climax of Mwananchi Week  celebrations on September 12 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

The match is expected to showcase the strength of the defending champions while introducing new signings to fans as the club gears up for the upcoming season.

Speaking after training at Avic Town grounds in Kigamboni, Yanga captain Bakari Mwanyeto said the team is in top form and motivated to put on a strong performance.

“We are fully prepared, and every player is eager to give their best. We want to make it a memorable day for our fans,” Mwanyeto said, urging supporters to attend in large numbers.

 “It will be a special day for Yanga, full of both football and entertainment.”he added

Defender Kibwana Shomari added that although Bandari is a strong side, Yanga is determined to stick to the coach’s strategy and build good chemistry with new players in the squad.

“We know it will be a competitive match, but we are focused. Our fans should come out in big numbers to support us and give us the energy to perform even better,” Shomari said.

The Mwananchi Week  festival has become a hallmark of Yanga’s calendar, bringing together thousands of supporters each year to celebrate the club’s identity, unveil new players, and strengthen the bond between the team and its fan base.
