The Deputy Commissioner General of the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Mr. Mcha Hassan Mcha, has applauded Singida business operators for their commitment to voluntary tax compliance, noting that their efforts have helped the authority surpass its collection targets.
Mr. Mcha made the remarks on September 11, 2025, during a working tour of Singida, where he met with several taxpayers to hear their concerns, address challenges, and express appreciation for their continued cooperation.
“I extend my heartfelt thanks to the business community in Singida. Your willingness to pay taxes on time is not only enabling TRA to exceed its targets but also contributing directly to the country’s growth and development,” he said.
He emphasized the importance of sustaining voluntary compliance, describing it as a best practice that should be emulated by businesses across the country.
He further reminded taxpayers to clear all dues before September 30, 2025, to avoid unnecessary penalties or disruptions.
During his visit, Mr. Mcha toured key institutions and companies, including Wild Flower Grains & Oil Mills Company Limited, Abeti Company Limited schools, Mohamed S. Dule, and Global Pharma (STK) Limited.
He used the opportunity to encourage continued cooperation between TRA and the private sector in fostering a healthy tax-paying culture.
The visit comes as part of TRA’s wider engagement drive to strengthen trust with taxpayers, address compliance challenges, and reinforce the critical role of taxation in financing national development projects.
