The Tanzanian government is inviting investors from Oman to explore opportunities in the country’s livestock and fisheries sectors, a move aimed at strengthening decades-long economic cooperation between the two nations.
On September 9, 2025, a delegation of Omani business leaders, led by Dr. Salem Al-Junaibi, Chairman of the Business and Industrial Association in Al Wusta Region and Board Member of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, met with officials from the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries.
The meeting took place at the Tanzania Veterinary Laboratory Agency (TVLA) in Temeke, Dar es Salaam, and was chaired by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary representative, Prof. Mohamed Sheikh.
The talks focused on potential investments in areas such as meat and fish processing, dairy and leather production, modern fish farming, animal feed manufacturing, veterinary vaccines, and cold chain facilities for storing and exporting livestock and fish products to international markets.
The Omani delegation was also joined by Ambassador Abdalah Kilima, Director of the Middle East Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, highlighting the strong diplomatic and trade ties between the two countries.
Officials said the partnership could create new jobs, improve local production standards, and open up Tanzanian livestock and fish products to global markets, signaling a significant step in Tanzania’s economic growth strategy.
