Stanbic Bank Tanzania marked its 30th anniversary by hosting a high-level HR Summit Dinner at Serena Hotel, bringing together top human resources leaders from across sectors to discuss how employee financial wellness can drive productivity and loyalty.
The event, themed “Empowering Those Who Empower Employees,” provided a platform for collaboration, showing how banks and employers can work together to address financial challenges facing many employees.
Mr. Omari Mtiga, Stanbic’s Head of Personal Banking Services, opened the summit by emphasizing the strong link between financial stability and workplace performance.
"When employees feel secure financially, they work harder, remain loyal, and bring creativity to the workplace. HR leaders are crucial partners in building institutions with thriving employees," he said.
The highlight of the evening was the unveiling of Stanbic’s Employee Value Banking (EVB) program by Mr. Emmanuel Mahodanga, Head of Personal Banking, and Mr. Priscus Kavishe, Senior Manager of Sales and Recruitment.
EVB offers tailored financial solutions to help employees manage debt, plan for retirement, and grow savings. According to Stanbic, these services reduce financial stress, leading to greater focus and productivity at work.
A panel discussion titled “Financial Fitness at Work,” moderated by Mr. Elibariki Ndossi, Head of Investments, and Ms. Janeth Mosha, Investment Officer, explored practical ways HR departments can embed financial wellness into employee programs.
Topics included debt management, retirement planning, and savings strategies, alongside practical tools that Stanbic provides directly to staff.
The evening also featured insights from Mr. Charles Nduku and client testimonials showcasing how Stanbic’s financial services have strengthened organizations.
The summit concluded with a call from Mr. Mahodanga urging HR leaders to organize Financial Fitness sessions for their employees, followed by dinner and networking, reinforcing partnerships between HR professionals and Stanbic.
For Stanbic, the HR Summit Dinner was more than a 30th-anniversary celebration—it was a clear message of the bank’s commitment to supporting organizations in building financially secure and resilient workforces.
