Majaliwa: voting CCM means choosing development

By Alfred Zacharia

Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has said that the ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), is fully prepared to continue delivering development across all sectors in Tanzania.

Speaking on Sunday, September 21, 2025, during the launch of the election campaign in Kiwani Constituency, Pemba, Mr. Majaliwa stressed that voting for CCM in the October general elections means voting for development.

He said that Tanzanians have consistently witnessed progress under CCM governments, with investments reaching health, education, infrastructure, and other social services. "We are all witnesses. Pemba today and Zanzibar today are different from where we came from.

Development steps are visible in every sector. I myself inaugurated a health centre here, and I am told it is now serving the community," he said.

Mr. Majaliwa, who is also a member of CCM’s National Executive Committee, appealed to Zanzibaris to support the party’s presidential candidates—President Samia Suluhu Hassan on the Union side and President Hussein Mwinyi for Zanzibar—whom he described as “doctors of development.”

"President Samia and President Mwinyi are leaders who listen, act with integrity, and are committed to development. Electing them again means securing more progress," he said.

At the same rally, Kiwani CCM candidate and Zanzibar’s Second Vice President, Hemed Suleiman Abdulla, pledged to serve his constituents with integrity and focus on solving pressing challenges within five years.

He said his leadership would ensure that every young person from the constituency receives close support to benefit from their education and opportunities.

Mr. Hemed emphasized that his campaign is anchored on accountability and community empowerment, promising that the constituency will continue to benefit from the wider CCM agenda.
