Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa today opens the Fourth National Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Forum in Mwanza, representing President Samia Suluhu Hassan at the event.

The high-level forum, taking place at Malaika Beach Hotel, has brought together development partners, local government directors, technical experts, and senior officials from across Africa and beyond.

Speaking at the opening, Mr. Majaliwa said the government places great emphasis on monitoring and evaluation as essential tools for accountability and effective delivery of public services.

He noted that strong evaluation systems ensure development programmes meet their intended goals and have tangible benefits for citizens.

The forum is being held under the theme “Strengthening Monitoring and Evaluation Capacity for Communities to Enable Better Performance and Sustainable Development.”

It aims to promote knowledge sharing, showcase innovative approaches, and reinforce collaboration among stakeholders to enhance governance and service delivery.

Officials said the forum is also an opportunity for Tanzania to demonstrate its commitment to results-driven development and to learn from best practices adopted by other countries.
