How Halopesa’s “Tamba na Bonasi” campaign turns everyday transactions into cash rewards

Halotel’s mobile financial service, Halopesa, has launched “Tamba na Bonasi”, a campaign designed to turn routine transactions into cash rewards. The initiative introduces a digital assistant, Mr. Bonasi, as the campaign’s official face.

Speaking to journalists, Halotel’s Head of Commercial Department, Happy Mzena, said customers can win up to TSh 2 million through daily, weekly, and monthly draws by sending money, paying for goods, or purchasing electricity (LUKU).

“Mr. Bonasi is not just the campaign logo, but a digital rewards platform that brings excitement to every transaction. Our goal is to make every Halopesa service an opportunity for customers to win,” Mzena said.

Marketing Officer Aidat Lwiza said the campaign is designed to add real value for users while promoting financial inclusion. Halopesa continues to offer competitive transaction fees and a wide network of agents and stores nationwide.

“Through this campaign, thousands of customers will have the chance to win prizes and interact with Mr. Bonasi every day, week, and month. Every transaction is not just a way to send or receive money but a step towards winning,” Lwiza added.

The campaign targets ordinary Tanzanians, including small-scale entrepreneurs and households, providing opportunities to earn extra income through regular financial activities. Analysts say this could boost Halopesa’s transaction volumes and enhance customer engagement.

Lwiza reminded users that all winning notifications will come through official Halopesa channels and the verified customer service number ‘100’. Customers are advised not to share personal information with unverified contacts and to use official channels for assistance.

Halopesa’s “Tamba na Bonasi” campaign combines convenience, digital innovation, and rewards, aiming to strengthen customer loyalty while encouraging the adoption of mobile financial services nationwide.
