Singida Black Stars have made history in Tanzanian football, and head coach Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba has applauded the team for their remarkable achievement in the CECAFA Kagame Cup.
The Tanzanian side secured the championship after defeating Sudanese club Al Hilal 2-1 in a thrilling final held yesterday at the KMC Complex Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Dr. Nchemba praised the players for their discipline, dedication, and unity, emphasizing that the victory is not just for the team, but for the entire nation.
Hussein Massanza, Singida Black Stars’ Communications Officer, added that while the team celebrated their success, coach Miguel Gamondi urged players to enjoy the moment but remain focused on further improving performance.
“Although we lifted the trophy, the coach was not entirely satisfied with our performance. Only a few areas remain to be strengthened as we prepare for upcoming competitions,” Massanza explained.
He noted that despite being in pre-season, new signings are quickly adapting, many having prior experience with Coach Gamondi.
“This familiarity will make it easier to finalize preparations and build a strong squad for the challenges ahead,” he said.
