The race for the Dar es Salaam Regional Basketball League heats up this weekend as the semifinals tip off on September 21 at Don Bosco Oysterbay grounds.
In the men’s bracket, Pazi will go head-to-head with JKT, while Dar City battle Stein Warriors in what promises to be a thrilling contest.
The women’s category will see JKT Stars take on BD Troncatti, before Jeshi Stars square off against BD Lioness.
Haleluya Kavalambi, Technical and Competition Director of the Dar es Salaam Basketball Association (DB), said the semifinals will be played in a best-of-three series format.
“Any team that wins two straight games will book a place in the finals. If both sides secure one win each, then the third game will be the decider,” he explained.
Kavalambi added that preparations are at an advanced stage to ensure the games run smoothly and professionally, with expectations of a high level of competition.
“We anticipate intense matchups and new champions in both the men’s and women’s categories this season,” he said.
The semifinals set the stage for an exciting climax to the regional league, which continues to showcase emerging talent and strengthen basketball’s profile in Tanzania.
