Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) vice-presidential running mate, Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel John Nchimbi, has pledged that a re-elected government under President Samia Suluhu Hassan will raise the scope of mineral exploration from 16 percent to 50 percent while expanding opportunities for small-scale miners.

Dr. Nchimbi made the remarks on Friday, September 5, 2025, during campaign rallies in Mbogwe and Nyang’hwale districts, Geita Region, as part of the CCM presidential campaign trail ahead of the October 29 general election.

He said the 2025–2030 CCM manifesto places the mining sector at the centre of the party’s development agenda, targeting broader participation and sustainable growth.

“Our manifesto has made a clear commitment to boost productivity in the mining sector. This involves allocating more mining areas for artisanal and small-scale miners, and scaling up mineral exploration from the current 16 percent to 50 percent,” Dr. Nchimbi told the gatherings.

He underscored that the move is expected to unlock new opportunities, create jobs, and strengthen the contribution of the extractive industry to Tanzania’s economic transformation.

Dr. Nchimbi is running alongside President Samia Suluhu Hassan on the CCM ticket for the October polls.
