Angle Park Director calls on parents to strengthen family engagement in education

The Standard Seven graduation ceremony at Tegeta A Primary School in Ubungo on Saturday turned into more than just a festive occasion, as parents and guardians were urged to play a greater role in the upbringing of their children.

Guest of honour and Director of Angle Park, Bonifasi Daniely, stressed the importance of parental involvement during the transition period from primary to secondary education, warning that children at this stage are highly vulnerable to negative influences.

“When children complete Standard Seven, they face significant risks of being misled by peers, social media, or economic challenges. A united family offers a strong foundation for both moral values and academic success,” Mr Daniely said.

He underscored that parenting is not the responsibility of one individual but rather a collective duty of the entire family, supported by schools and the wider community.

“Schools provide knowledge, but families shape good behaviour and integrity. Strong parenting remains the backbone of successful education,” he added.

To reinforce his message with action, Mr Daniely pledged TZS6 million for the construction of a sewage system at Tegeta A Primary School.

The project, aimed at improving hygiene, sanitation, and the overall learning environment, was warmly applauded by teachers and parents in attendance.

The ceremony featured vibrant performances by pupils, including traditional dances and plays, while parents shared ideas on how to better support their children as they prepare to begin secondary education.

“Let us dedicate time to our children, listen to them, and instil strong values. Secondary education is not merely another stage of schooling it is the gateway to a new chapter in life,” Mr Daniely concluded.
