Ally Kamwe, Media and Communications Manager of Yanga SC, has expressed strong confidence in Tanzania’s Taifa Stars ahead of their CHAN 2025 quarterfinal clash against Morocco on August 22 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Speaking to journalists on August 18, Kamwe described Morocco as an underdog and emphasized that there is no reason for Tanzanians to fear them.
He praised the team’s quality, highlighting that the squad boasts some of the country’s best players.
“This match is about pride for our nation, our league, and our players. We must outperform Morocco on the field,” Kamwe said.
He stressed the importance of fan support, calling on Tanzanians to turn out in large numbers and boost the players’ morale.
“Your voice is a weapon. Filling the stadium will inspire the team to fight harder and secure victory,” he added.
Tickets for the game went on sale today, and Kamwe urged everyone to come early to ensure a packed stadium. He emphasized that strong support from the fans could be decisive in helping Tanzania reach the semifinals.
Kamwe also highlighted the strength of the Taifa Stars squad, noting that 75 percent of the players have experience in major and minor tournaments—giving them a competitive edge over other national teams.
He explained that the team is changing its message to energize supporters. “At the start of the tournament, the slogan was ‘stay home.’ Now we say, ‘I am here.’
We want to remind everyone who missed the group stage to come out in full force and support our players,” Kamwe said.
With the team’s confidence high and fan support expected to swell, Tanzania is poised to make a strong mark in the CHAN 2025 quarterfinals.
