The management of Singida Black Stars has announced the postponement of this year’s Singida Big Day festival, which was scheduled for September 6 at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha.
Traditionally held in Singida, the festival was set to take place in Arusha this year due to logistical reasons and to expand the team’s northern fan base.
Speaking on August 23, 2024, Singida Black Stars’ Communications Officer, Hussein Massanza, explained that the decision was influenced by the club’s participation in the CECAFA Kagame Cup, which is set to kick off this September in Dar es Salaam.
Massanza apologized to Arusha fans, who were looking forward to live music performances and football entertainment. “We want to inform our supporters that we have had to postpone the festival due to a tight September schedule and our involvement in international tournaments,” he said.
Originally, the festival’s relocation to Arusha aimed to broaden the team’s reach in northern Tanzania, showcase the newly registered squad for the 2025/26 season, and enhance the club’s national profile. The planned program included a major friendly match against an international team, musical performances by top artists, and an ‘after party’ to celebrate the event.
Despite the postponement, the Singida Big Day festival remains a cornerstone for connecting with fans, celebrating local talent, and highlighting the progress of Singida Black Stars both on and off the pitch.
