The Ministry of Energy is encouraging Tanzanians to take advantage of the ongoing Nane Nane exhibitions in Dodoma to deepen their understanding of the country’s energy landscape and tap into the sector’s growing opportunities.
The call was made by Fredrick Marwa, a geologist with the Ministry, who said the Ministry is using its pavilion at the Nzuguni grounds to educate the public on major projects under implementation including oil and gas exploration, electrification programmes, and institutional reforms.
“This year, we are showcasing key initiatives, particularly ongoing oil and gas exploration activities in strategic areas such as the Eyasi-Wembere Basin,” Marwa during an interview at the exhibition grounds.
He noted that beyond information-sharing, the Ministry is also using the platform to demonstrate milestones achieved through its affiliated institutions, including TANESCO, REA, EWURA, and TPDC.
“Visitors can engage with technical experts from our institutions, see progress on rural electrification, learn about investment prospects in renewable energy, and understand the regulatory environment shaping the sector,” Marwa explained.
He said the Ministry’s participation at Nane Nane reflects the government's continued commitment to transparency and public awareness in national energy development.
The Ministry’s presence has attracted students, investors, farmers, and community leaders seeking to align their activities with national energy priorities.
According to officials, key highlights at the pavilion include interactive displays, live demonstrations, and one-on-one consultations on emerging energy technologies.
Held annually from August 1 to 8, the Nane Nane Agricultural Exhibition is one of Tanzania’s largest platforms for showcasing innovations in agriculture, livestock, energy, and other development sectors.
This year’s event carries renewed emphasis on cross-sector collaboration to drive inclusive growth in rural areas.
