The Public Procurement Appeals Authority (PPAA) is using the ongoing National NaneNane Agricultural Exhibition in Dodoma to educate the public and procurement stakeholders on the appeals process within the government procurement framework.
The Authority is focusing its awareness campaign on the digital module used for lodging and managing complaints and appeals under the National e-Procurement System of Tanzania (NeST), as part of its commitment to promoting transparency and accountability in public procurement.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Secretary of PPAA, Mr. James Sando, the Acting Head of Public Relations and Communication, Mr. Nelson Kessy, said the exhibition presents a strategic opportunity to reach a broader audience including service providers and suppliers who may not be fully aware of their rights and responsibilities under the public procurement appeals system.
“We are here to bridge the knowledge gap and ensure that suppliers, contractors, and even ordinary citizens understand how to access justice in procurement disputes through the proper channels,” Mr. Kessy said.
He encouraged participants and visitors to take time to visit the PPAA desk located within the Ministry of Finance pavilion at Nzuguni Grounds, where officers are on hand to offer guidance and distribute informative materials.
The 2025 NaneNane National Exhibition is held under the theme “Choose Good Leaders for Sustainable Development in Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries 2025.”
The event was officially opened on August 1 by the Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Philip Mpango, and will run through August 8.
NaneNane exhibitions provide a vital platform for institutions, farmers, and innovators to showcase achievements, exchange knowledge, and engage the public on a range of development initiatives including governance and service delivery systems such as public procurement.
