Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has lauded CRDB Bank for its continued commitment to driving growth in Tanzania’s agriculture, livestock, and fisheries sectors.

The Premier made the remarks during his official visit to the bank’s main pavilion at the ongoing Nanenane Agricultural Exhibition in Dodoma.

Accompanied by senior government officials, the Prime Minister was welcomed by CRDB Bank staff and service providers at the exhibition site.

During the visit, Mr. Maregesi Shaabani, Head of Agribusiness at CRDB Bank, delivered a comprehensive briefing on the bank’s contributions to transforming rural economies through strategic financing and capacity-building initiatives.

Mr. Shaabani highlighted that CRDB Bank has emerged as the leading lender in the agriculture and allied sectors, disbursing over TZS 3 trillion in loans representing more than 45 percent of all national lending to agriculture, livestock, fisheries, trade, and industry as of August 2025.

“The bank's strategic focus on agribusiness aligns with national priorities to modernize and commercialize the sector. Through strong collaboration with the government and development partners, we are helping farmers, fishers, and livestock keepers access the capital and tools they need to thrive,” Mr. Shaabani said.

Prime Minister Majaliwa praised CRDB’s efforts, noting that such private sector engagement is vital for achieving sustainable development and food security.

He urged other financial institutions to follow CRDB’s example in supporting Tanzania’s agricultural transformation agenda.

CRDB Bank continues to expand its support to rural communities, reinforcing its position as a key partner in the country’s economic development through inclusive finance and innovation.
