JKT Queens set sights on CECAFA glory in Kenya

The JKT Queens are in full swing as they prepare for the upcoming CECAFA Women’s Championship, scheduled from September 4 to 16 in Nairobi, Kenya.

The Tanzanian side is currently holding an intensive training camp in Moshi, Kilimanjaro Region, fine-tuning fitness, tactics, and teamwork ahead of the regional showdown.

“Everything is going smoothly,” said JKT Queens’ Public Relations Officer Masau Bwire. “All our players are healthy, spirits are high, and we are focused on making history in this tournament.”

JKT Queens will leave for Kenya on September 1, aiming to clinch another championship title abroad. “Our goal is clear: to return as the best team and lift the trophy once more,” Bwire added.

The CECAFA Women’s Championship will feature nine teams from across the region. Tomorrow, the tournament draw will be conducted in Kenya to determine the fixtures. 

Participating teams include Kampala Queens (Uganda), Kenya Police Bullets (Kenya), Commercial Ethiopia FC (Ethiopia), Yei Joint Stars (South Sudan), Rayon Sport WFC (Rwanda), TOP Girl Academy (Burundi), JKU Princess (Zanzibar), Denden FC (Eritrea), and JKT Queens (Tanzania).
