How NEMC promotes environmentally friendly farming at Nanenane fair

By Our Correspondent, Dodoma

The National Environment Management Council (NEMC) is taking part in this year’s Nanenane Agricultural Exhibition at Nzuguni Grounds in Dodoma, where it is raising awareness about the importance of environmentally sustainable agriculture.

The Council’s presence aligns with this year’s theme: "Choose Good Leaders for the Development of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries."

At its pavilion, NEMC is educating farmers, pastoralists, and other stakeholders on key environmental issues affecting the agriculture sector.

The Council is emphasizing the importance of conducting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), discouraging the use of plastic bags, and addressing the impact of water pollution on ecosystems.

It is also promoting conservation agriculture, proper waste recycling practices, and the timely payment of environmental fees.

NEMC has invited the public—especially farmers, livestock keepers, and fishers—to visit its pavilion to learn how to integrate environmental conservation into their economic activities for sustainable development.
