Family Fest 2025 blends fun with health education in Dar es Salaam

Family Fest 2025, a colorful gathering for families in Dar es Salaam, offered more than music, games, and entertainment this year it also became a stage for health awareness.

Among the key participants was Saifee Hospital, which used the occasion to deliver crucial health education and free consultations for children and adults.

Parents and children who attended the festival had the opportunity to learn about disease prevention, undergo basic health checks, and receive advice on healthy living.

“Events like this help us meet the community outside hospital walls and share knowledge that can prevent illnesses before they become serious,” said Dr. Cleophace Lucas, one of the medical experts present.

Beyond the festival, the hospital is also championing broader community involvement through the upcoming Saifee Run, scheduled for September 28 at Masaki grounds.

The annual charity race raises funds to support medical care for people unable to afford treatment. This year, the event will carry even greater weight, with Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa expected to officiate.

For many families, the festival was not just about bonding and entertainment, but also about learning life-saving practices.

Organizers said the integration of health education into a family event reflects a growing recognition that public health is a shared responsibility, requiring awareness as much as medical facilities.

Family Fest 2025, therefore, served as a reminder that while recreation strengthens social ties, it can also be a powerful avenue for spreading knowledge that improves lives.
