The Business Registrations and Licensing Agency (BRELA), in collaboration with the African Regional Intellectual Property Organization (ARIPO), has called on journalists across Tanzania to participate in a regional competition celebrating excellence in reporting on intellectual property (IP).
The awards, organized by ARIPO in partnership with Innovation for Africa (AfrIPI), aim to recognize journalists whose work highlights IP issues, promotes local inventors, and educates the public on the importance of protecting innovations.
Participants from print, radio, television, and digital media are encouraged to submit entries that showcase stories on IP-related topics.
According to BRELA, the initiative is designed to raise awareness about intellectual property, encourage creativity, and contribute to economic growth in ARIPO member states, including Tanzania.
The awards also reflect recommendations made at the ARIPO General Assembly during the 2022/2023 period.
Journalists nationwide are urged to take part in this competition and share stories that celebrate innovation while strengthening the culture of IP awareness in the region.
