Announcing the outcome of the vetting process held on August 1 in Dar es Salaam, the Chairman of the Election Committee, Leonard Thadeo, said:“Out of 20 candidates who appeared for the vetting, 18 have successfully passed. Two withdrew their candidacy for reasons beyond their control, and the committee has officially accepted their withdrawal.”

He noted that the process was smooth and conducted according to established procedures.

“The screening went well, and we now have qualified candidates for all positions who will proceed according to the election timetable,” said Thadeo.

Commenting on the race for the federation’s top position, he said:“We had six individuals interested in the presidency, but after two dropped out, four remain and have been cleared.”

The cleared presidential candidates are Angelus Stephen Likwembe, Rogath John Stephen, William Steven Kallaghe, and Nsolo Malongo Mlozi.

For the position of Vice President, the approved candidates are Baraka Elias Sulus and Jackson Beda Ndaweka.
