The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) has issued its 24-hour weather forecast beginning at 9:00 p.m. today, highlighting generally stable weather conditions across the country with isolated thundershowers and light rain expected in select regions.
According to the forecast, residents in Kagera, Mara, Mwanza, Geita, Simiyu, and Shinyanga should prepare for partly cloudy skies accompanied by thundershowers in a few areas.
These will be interspersed with periods of sunshine. Similarly, the Tanga region is likely to experience partly cloudy conditions with light rain showers in some localities.
The Isles of Unguja and Pemba, along with the southern coastal regions of Lindi and Mtwara, are forecasted to remain generally dry with partly cloudy skies and long sunny intervals.
Mainland coastal areas such as Dar es Salaam, Pwani (including Mafia Isles), and Morogoro are also expected to enjoy warm and sunny weather with no significant disruptions anticipated.
In the central zones, including Dodoma and Singida, conditions will remain calm and dry. The northern highlands Arusha, Manyara, and Kilimanjaro will experience cool temperatures, partly cloudy skies, and sunshine throughout the day.
Western zones covering Kigoma, Tabora, and Katavi are expected to remain mostly dry with some cloud cover and sunny breaks.
A marine advisory has been issued for areas along the northern coastline, where short periods of large waves reaching up to 2 metres may occur.
This includes Tanga, Pwani, Dar es Salaam, and the Zanzibar isles. Fishermen and marine transport operators are urged to take precautions.
Maximum temperatures are projected to range from 15°C in Njombe to 30°C in Dar es Salaam and Tabora.
Mbeya remains the coldest zone, with temperatures dropping to 7°C during the night. Sunrise will occur between 06:35 and 07:12 a.m., while sunset is expected between 18:19 and 19:01 p.m.
Coastal winds will blow at speeds of 30km/h southward along the northern coast and southeastward for the southern coast contributing to moderate to rough sea conditions.TMA projects slight changes in weather patterns on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
