The District Executive Director of Mbeya, Ms. Erica Yegella, has called on preschool and primary school teachers to take full responsibility in establishing strong and solid foundations in teaching young children,

She added that doing so, allow students to acquire essential skills in reading, writing, and arithmetic.

Ms. Yegella made these remarks during a ceremony to distribute 50 desks to two primary schools of Jitegemee and Mlimareli, both located in the Utengule Usongwe ward.

She emphasized that all children in early education, as well as those in first and second grades, should be ready and able to read, write, and perform basic calculations by the time they sit for their exams.

She urged teachers to pay close attention to this critical stage to raise education standards for these students.

Ms. Yegella noted that the desks would significantly relieve students from the discomfort of overcrowded classrooms, allowing them to learn in friendlier and more conducive environments, which will bring positive developmental changes to education in Mbeya District.

“I sincerely thank CRDB Bank for responding positively to our request to provide these 50 desks, which will be distributed across the two schools. I am confident this support will be a great benefit to our students,” said the Director.

This donation is part of an ongoing partnership between the private sector and government to uplift the quality of education across Tanzania.
