The Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament, and Coordination), Dr Jim Yonazi, has called on public servants within the Office of the Prime Minister to enhance their commitment, professionalism, and innovation in delivering public services.

Speaking in Dodoma on July 29, 2025, during an official meeting with staff, Dr Yonazi emphasized the critical role that each employee plays in shaping the wellbeing of millions of Tanzanians.

He stressed the need for discipline, teamwork, and creativity in carrying out daily responsibilities, noting that efficient service delivery remains the cornerstone of the government’s development agenda.

“It is important to remember that the work we do directly affects the lives of our fellow citizens. I urge all of you to continue working with dedication, integrity, and unity. Let us maintain a shared sense of purpose and commitment to excellence,” said Dr Yonazi.

He further underlined the importance of building a cohesive working environment, stating that collective effort strengthens institutional resilience and enables the office to overcome challenges and deliver results.

“As we collaborate, we create a formidable force that no obstacle can withstand. Let’s continue to serve with a common spirit and strive to achieve the vision of our Office and the broader national goals,” he added.

Looking ahead to the 2025/2026 financial year, Dr Yonazi noted that the Office is undertaking measures to improve workplace conditions and employee welfare.

These include addressing key operational challenges, strengthening performance monitoring systems, and promoting innovation across all levels of service delivery.

“In this new fiscal year, we are committed to creating a supportive work environment that nurtures creativity, fosters accountability, and ensures every employee contributes meaningfully to institutional and national development,” he said.

As part of the meeting, staff members are expected to receive training from the UTT Asset Management and Investor Services (UTT AMIS) on the importance of long-term investment.

They will also benefit from health education focused on hepatitis and non-communicable diseases, as well as refresher sessions on public service ethics.

The gathering aims to reinforce the values of integrity, accountability, and continuous learning among public servants, aligning their efforts with the government’s ambition to deliver inclusive and sustainable development.
